So you love Essential Oils and you are using them on all the things; now, what do you do with all the cute little amber bottles? With the Young Living bottles you can an easily peel off the labels and refill with your own personal blends, pop a spray top on for a spray blend, use as bud vase for a single flower or fill with Thieves Cleaner and gift to a friend who has never heard of the power of Thieves!
When my bottles are almost empty and I cannot get a drop out (even with the reducer cap off), I like to place a bunch up in the bottom of a big jar of Epsom salts. I let them sit for a week or so but there are times when I'll start using the salts right away. I just refill the salts on the top while the bottom of the container marinates. The fragrance is heavenly. You could get really fancy and save all your "fall" scents together, all your citrus scents etc. I am not that organized... I wish I was at times.
*One thing I've learned is that it may not be a great idea to do with hot oils, like Oregano. Ouch!!
Next on my list is dryer balls and my favorite empty EO bottles in a sealed jar ready to use whenever a load needs to be done. Did you know that dryer sheets are one of the most toxic things used in our homes? They can also be a fire hazard as the chemicals build up on the inside of the dryer. So instead we use these cute little balls of wool. My favorite essential oil for laundry is Lemongrass. Many of my friends love Lavender. You can use any essential oil you like. Oooo how about Palmorosa? *Have static issues? Place a safety pin in at least one or all of your dryer balls.
My last and most simple idea is to place open empty bottles, lids and reducers in distilled or purified water and let them soak them for a week or two. Gently agitate the jar every day or so. Then fill your diffuser and diffuse in a room that needs a little pick me up. Easy Peasy!
*Please use a glass jar for soaking. Also, I forgot to take the labels off first. No biggie.
So many different uses for nearly empty and empty EO bottles. What's your favorite use? What's you favorite EO for the dryer? I had another idea but it totally escapes me now! I'll remember in the middle of the night. LOL. When I do, I put it in my stories over on Instagram. It was a good one too, darn!
Blessing,
Julie
