So far...

I've: Made tea!
-Planted pumpkins
-weeded and planted calendula
-drained (into the garden) & clean out rain barrel
-exercised the chickens
-found, uploaded, and ordered Fl notebook photos
-have girls cleaning school room
-started laundry
-woke at 6:30 am
-quiet time (i think i need more)

Whew!
Here's what I did on Saturday!

Yup. I canned my own apple pie filling. Go here to 4 Reluctant Entertainers. I never would have tried this if she hadn't made it look so good! It was pretty simple and we had a huge surplus of apples. I would do a couple of things differently next time.

1. Add a bit more sugar
2. Not fill my cans so full!

No we can make apple pie any old time w/o as much work.
Give it a try and let me know how it goes.

Have to say when I read your post yesterday I was inspired to get up earlier! Last night our little guy was up for most of it (sick). So, didn't get up early and didn't do much of anything else. Maybe tomorrow I will catch up to your speed! Probably won't be exercising chickens, though.

Mmm, your apple pie filling looks great! Don't it just make ya feel so good to accomplish something like that. When I can (which I do alot of!) I leave my jars out for a few days just so I can admire them. :)

P.O.O.P.I.E

People Opposing Objectionable Pretend plants in the Environment ! Okay folks it's been a week....which is way too long. Schooling 3 1/2 is a bit daunting at times. My other excuse.....I've been freaking out about lice for over a week. No, I didn't have it (this time around), but I've scratched myself raw over it! On to P.O.O.P.I.E.! Over at Nestor's she's done a short series on what's a good fake and what's not ( errr flowers that is). So after you take a peak at mine head over there and read hers and everyone else' poop (can I say that?), I mean blogs! Nesting Place is in my side bar if you need directions ( I wanted to put the button up, but have no clue). These are my year round fakies .... Superman gave me the floral arrangement about 12 years ago when we couldn't afford flowers, who am I kidding....we still can't! I did change out the pedestal urn they came in. My wonderful ivy on top of the cabinets. My chicks have always ha...

Nestor's Party- My Craft Room!

Well I wanted to get these up because Nestor is having a 10 minute to a beautiful room party . This has definitely taken more than 10 minutes. But in my brain it was only suppose to take a day! It's far from finished, but that's what a craft room is for. Right? Here's a couple of before pics during the Children's Christmas play. Basically every surface was covered and I had to move stuff just to work. Five of us craft, sew, scrapbook etc in this room. So space and good storage is an issue. The room is apx.10x11. I really want my daughter's to grow up being Keeper's of their Homes. Home Decorating and Crafting Frugally is a must! You can have a beautiful home on a very tight budget. I also want them to be creative and have a place to show and explore their abilities. ( alrighty let me jump down from my horse; ) Here's some after photos. The paint was from the $5 bin and too yellow. So I added alot of white that we had from another project! Th...

Zeee Transformation!

It's Frugal Friday again! I really enjoy everyone's offerings. Please share your comments and head over to Biblicalwomanhood.com for more great tips. I have it listed in Friends and Interest for your convienece. Have a great weekend and enjoy! I've been anxious to get these up here! This was one of Superman's and my summer projects. We finished just in time for our littlest chickadee's birthday and for use while I'm schooling the rest of the brood. Here's what I found at a local thrift store.... The stove had a sad laminate door on it that someone else had used to repair it. I sanded down both the fridge and stove. I also traced the stove top. Then Superman took over. He did more sanding, replaced the door with scrap wood and cut out a window. So that she can see what's baking. After that it was time to paint! I really wanted red because (for now) it's in my kitchen and it looks great with the other colors in there. Quite Spicy! And I found it in th...
